RAW FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: WHEN PREGNANT, CONSUME WITHOUT MODERATION!

From spring, fruits and vegetables are essential to maintain good hydration throughout the day while providing fresh and light meals. After the soups and purees of winter, rejoice: raw food offers its crunchiness for pleasure and its living vitamins for your health and that of your baby!

THE STRAWBERRY :

Very rich in water, strawberries are the refreshing fruit par excellence. Its carbohydrate/organic acid balance also gives it the particularity of being very low in calories (52 kcal for a 150 g portion). Thanks to its very rich vitamin C content, strawberries allow you to cover your daily needs for this vitamin with a 150 g portion (80 mg recommended daily intake for an adult). It will be perfect for those little hunger pangs!

PAPAYA:

Papaya has powerful detoxifying and anti-oxidant properties, enough to keep you in shape throughout your pregnancy. Its high density in potassium and calcium constitutes an asset for cardiovascular prevention and can have beneficial effects against hypertension. This fruit, which is very rich in vitamins (vitamin C, provitamin A) also provides a good mineral supplement and helps reinforce mineral and trace element intake, without the risk of excess calories.

PURSLANE:

Very rich in water, it is refreshing and low in calories. There are two varieties (green and golden), cultivated like spinach. Purslane should be eaten young and in salads to maintain its soft consistency and tangy taste. It is distinguished by a high vitamin and mineral density, particularly in antioxidants (vitamins C and A), but also in magnesium and vitamin B1, which contribute to good neuromuscular balance.

THE CUCUMBER :

The star of summer fresh meals, cucumbers are full of vitamins, including a great array of vitamin B. Its skin contains provitamin A and vitamin E which help delay cell aging. Many minerals are contained in the water which constitutes it and are present at interesting physiological levels. Cucumber juice consumed on an empty stomach for breakfast is an excellent detoxifier. In salad, for dessert, for a brunch with friends or for a healthy lunch break, eat them without moderation all summer long! The only rules to follow: rinse your fruits and vegetables well before eating them raw and reduce their consumption if you notice any discomfort such as bloating or stomach aches.
